Private Lessons in Portland Oregon
One of my main goals as a teacher is to teach students about the fundamental learning process so they can grow as both an artist and a person. I view teaching as a process of growth, like that which happens organically in nature. Just as plants need the right growing conditions, I prioritize providing a safe learning environment that is free of judgement, so students feel comfortable being themselves and inspired to improve their abilities. Once safety is established, students can hone the kind of focused observation that is the root of a growth mindset. From the root, a resilient stem built of patience and perseverance emerges. This allows the student to engage in the deliberate and detailed processes that ultimately lead to the leaves and bloom: technical ability and artistic self-expression. |
TuitionI offer lessons in 30, 45 and 60 minute increments. Depending on lesson length, average monthly prices range from about $168-$300. See the pricing sheet below for more specific billing details.
Studio PoliciesDuring weekly lessons, I design a personalized curriculum for each of my students with the goal of performing twice a year through two annual studio recitals. Please see my studio policies in more detail below.
